5 Fun Wine Tasting Words

​​Up Your Vocabulary and Sound Like a PRO

​Here are 5 words to make you sound like a total PRO when tasting wine!

1. “Zippy” - A wine that is light-bodied and high in acidity. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is often zippy. 
2. “Hot” - Oddly enough, this has nothing to do with the temperature of the wine. Hot means the wine is high in alcohol! 
3. “Grippy” - Grippy refers to that dry sensation you feel in your mouth after having a highly tannic wine. 
4. “Tight” - A wine is described as tight if it’s lacking in aroma and needs to be aged or decanted. 
5. “Stemmy” - A wine with notes of green pepper or fresh herbs will often be described as stemmy.
