Last week, I shared some of my favorite Seattle wine bars. But if you’re ready to take things a step deeper into the local wine scene, it’s time to talk tasting rooms!
Unlike wine bars, tasting rooms let you experience wine right at the source (or close to it), often guided by the people who made it. Here are some of my go-to tasting rooms that showcase the best of Washington winemaking. Tasting Rooms 1. Damsel Cellars A boutique Woodinville winery led by Mari Womack, who honed her craft at local wineries. Tastings run 60–90 minutes, cost $25, and often include curated cheese plates! 2. Cedargreen Cellars This boutique working winery in Woodinville serves reds, whites, rosé, sparkling, and “library wines” in their industrial-chic tasting studio. 3. Latta Wines Based in SODO and featuring uncommon varietals from the most unique vineyards in Washington State, this tasting room is part of a cluster of tasting rooms you can explore without leaving the city. Perfect for urban wine-hopping! 4. Elsom Cellars This woman-led team specializes in small-lot, artisanal wines, thoughtfully sourced through relationships with a collection of Washington’s most distinctive vineyards and hand-tended and bottled in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood. 5. Pomum Cellars Pomum features wines made from old-vine estate fruit grown at elevations of 1,100 ft in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA—some of the oldest Merlot and Petit Verdot vines in Washington! 6. The Melody Lynne Vineyard Their vineyard sits at an impressive 1,551 ft elevation in the Yakima River Canyon, ranking among the top 3% highest vineyards globally! This high-altitude terroir brings bright acidity and distinctive minerality to their wines. Let me know which tasting room you try first! Cheers!
