My First Costco Wine Haul

Guess who finally joined the Costco club?

After years of hearing whispers about their legendary wine section, I finally grabbed a membership card and let’s just say, I should have brought a bigger cart.

Costco’s wine selection is no joke! From local Washington State gems to beautiful imports from Italy, France, Spain, and beyond, the shelves are basically a playground for wine lovers. Here’s a peek at some of the bottles I couldn’t resist on my latest visit.

🖤 Ex Umbris — Syrah
  • Region: Washington State
  • Tasting Notes: Blackberry, plum, sage
  • Why I grabbed it: This is one of those wines everyone seems to adore, and for good reason!

🌹 Kirkland Signature — Nebbiolo (Barolo)
  • Region: Barolo, Italy
  • Tasting Notes: Roses, leather, strawberry
  • Why I grabbed it: A beautiful Barolo under the Costco label? Yes, please. It’s going to be perfect for a pasta night.

💜 Kirkland Signature — GSM Blend (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)
  • Region: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France
  • Tasting Notes: Raspberry, plum, lavender
  • Why I grabbed it: One of the best red wines from France in my opinion!

🍓 Brian Carter — Tempranillo Blend
  • Region: Washington State
  • Tasting Notes: Strawberry, vanilla, fig
  • Why I grabbed it: Smooth, balanced, and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

🍋 Domaine du Courtillet — Sauvignon Blanc
  • Region: Touraine, France
  • Tasting Notes: Grapefruit, herbs, lime zest
  • Why I grabbed it: Light, fresh, and the definition of summer in a glass.

🍏 Nisia — Verdejo
  • Region: Rueda, Spain
  • Tasting Notes: Yellow apple, lemon, hay
  • Why I grabbed it: Crisp and fresh, with enough texture to make it food-friendly.

🍫 Casa Santos Lima — Red Blend
  • Region: Portugal
  • Tasting Notes: Plum, chocolate, strawberry
  • Why I grabbed it: It’s under $10 (!) and tastes like it should cost twice that.

🍋 Domaine Bouchard — Chardonnay
  • Region: Burgundy, France
  • Tasting Notes: Apple, coconut, lemon curd
  • Why I grabbed it: Elegant and creamy, with just enough citrus to keep it fresh. Burgundy fans, this one’s for you!

🥂 Kirkland Signature — Champagne
  • Region: Champagne, France
  • Tasting Notes: Classic brioche, citrus, green apple
  • Why I grabbed it: It’s real Champagne for only $20... enough said

If you’re a fellow Costco member (or thinking about becoming one), keep an eye out for these bottles on your next trip. And tell me, which one should I open first??

I’m already planning a Part 2 at another Seattle-area Costco, so stay tuned for round two of bargain wine treasure hunting.
