For the longest time, “red blend” just meant a low quality wine. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth!
Blending wine is an art! And what better way to dive into the art of blending wine than with one of the most famous blends in the world: the GSM.
GSM stands for the three grapes that make up the blend: Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. During our tasting we’ll uncover just why these three grapes work so well together. We’ll explore the history of where this blend first occurred. And of course, we’ll taste a couple GSM blends to determine for ourselves if it is the ultimate blend!
We'll be trying any two GSM Blends (aka a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre)
Note: Keep in mind that many GSM blends have more grapes than just Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre so try to find blends that are majority these three grapes. You could look for two bottles from two different regions. Popular regions for GSM include: Rhone Valley, Laungedoc (France), Spain, Australia, California, South Africa, and Washington State.
