Villevert Pouilly FumeWelcome to Swill or Swell, a weekly series where I taste grocery store wines and let you know if they’re worth the buck or just meant for the drain! CAVEAT! As you read this, please keep in mind that wine is subjective! This means that everyone enjoys different things and something I like might not be something you like and vice versa. I’ll be as objective as I can with facts about the wine’s quality, but in the end if your opinion differs from mine...that’s perfectly fine! Wine is only worth drinking if YOU like drinking it! LET’S INTRODUCE THE WINE

This is the time of year when kids get to happily anticipate the holiday festivities, while the parents are left stressing to get all the details perfect. Tis the season! But why should kids be the only ones that get to relax and be gifted with treats? I say this year, you gift yourself with an advent calendar. But I’m not talking about the ones filled with chocolate or candies. I’m talking about the ones filled with WINE.
Yes, it’s a real thing. While the traditional advent calendar is filled with kid-friendly treats and serves as a countdown to the Christmas holiday, the wine industry (and many other beverage industries) have become very creative in developing the same fun countdown calendar that is now filled with the perfect treat after a day of holiday shopping. Wine advent calendars are particularly fun because they allow you to sample a variety of wines that you might not experience otherwise. Take a look at my pick of the 9 best wine advent calendars for your holiday sipping this year. |
